Dr. Daniel

Brooke Daniel, DVM

Dr. Brooke Daniel is a 2014 graduate of North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing small animal medicine in North Carolina for the last 5 years. She enjoys focusing on providing compassionate, quality care for her canine and feline patients. As a Stony Hill native and graduate of Wake Forest – Rolesville High School, Dr. Brooke is looking forward to returning to her roots and serving the people and pets of her hometown. Dr. Brooke completed her undergraduate coursework at NC State as well receiving a major in animal science and a minor in genetics.

When she is not working Dr. Brooke’s main focus is on her family. She loves spending time with her husband, daughter and two dogs, Johnny and June. She also loves spending time with her three beautiful nieces.

Dr. Brooke and her family love spending time outside and visit Kerr Lake every chance they get.

Kimberly Palgrave, BVM&S  GPCert(DI)  MRCVS

Dr. Kimberly Palgrave graduated as a Veterinarian in 2007 from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. She is originally from Texas and is a graduate of Texas A&M University. She holds a certificate in Diagnostic Imaging from the European School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies. Prior to joining New Light Animal Hospital, she worked as a Veterinarian in both equine, small and mixed animal practices in Texas, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Scotland and Colorado before returning to the Raleigh area.

Dr. Palgrave has a passion for veterinary education and has worked as a clinician in the Small Animal Teaching Hospital at the University of Edinburgh and has also been an adjunct faculty member for the Veterinary School at Colorado State University. She has also worked for a Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging equipment company based in Scotland, where she developed and implemented training programs for Veterinary Students and Veterinarians across the UK and Ireland to further the use of ultrasound as a diagnostic tool in the general practice environment. Dr. Palgrave’s primary professional interests include Diagnostic Imaging (Ultrasound and X-ray), Dentistry and Soft Tissue Surgery. Outside of work, she enjoys music and spending time with her horse. She is thrilled to be back in North Carolina at New Light Animal Hospital and is excited to be part of a great team providing high quality, compassionate Veterinary care for your pets!

Amanda Freeman,

Practice Manager

Amanda is deeply committed to the bond between animals and humans—a connection that has shaped her more than 20-year career in animal welfare. A Durham native, she is driven by the belief that every animal is an individual, with unique needs, limits, and ways of communicating. Known for her ability to read body language and meet animals where they are, Amanda approaches her work with patience, respect, and empathy.
Outside of work, she shares her life with several beloved animals who accompany her on outdoor adventures like hiking, trail walking, and traveling. Whether reading in nature, exploring the outdoors, or spending time with family, her animals are always close by. Guided by compassion and a strong sense of responsibility, Amanda is someone who will always stop to help an animal in need—letting her heart and purpose lead the way.

Jennifer Ihrie,

Veterinary Assistant

Jennifer is a seasoned Veterinary Assistant that has worked in veterinary medicine since 1994. She has lived in Franklin County her entire life. She loves going on long walks on the family farm with her dogs and her husband. Her daily goal is to be able to improve the health and overall well being of every animal that she works with. The Fall is Jennifer’s favorite time of the year and season. She loves the cooler weather and cheering on the NC State Wolfpack at Carter Finley Stadium. The Fall is also when she celebrates her favorite holiday – Halloween.

Shelby Fulcher,

Veterinary Assistant

Shelby is a compassionate and driven team member who brings positivity and dedication to everything she does. With a deep love for animals and a strong belief that every patient deserves the best possible outcome, She is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives she touches. She finds joy in reading, learning, and expanding her mind, and she thrives in clean, organized spaces that reflect her thoughtful nature.
Shelby enjoys traveling, trying new experiences, and cherishing quality time with her family, friends, significant other, and her faith. Her unwavering optimism and growth mindset guide her both personally and professionally. She believes in learning from mistakes, pushing forward, and never giving up, especially when it comes to her patients. To Shelby, no patient is a lost cause.
At home, she is a proud pet parent to three beloved fur babies—Sawyer, Lucy, and Tiger—and looks forward to welcoming more into her life. Being part of their journey and saving animal lives is one of her greatest passions

Kevin Barbee,

Customer Service Representative

A proud Durham native, Kevin has been with the company since its very beginning, offering a steady presence and a naturally calming voice that clients and colleagues appreciate. He has been surrounded by animals his entire life and currently shares his home with cats, dogs, and horses, reflecting a deep, lifelong bond with animals. An English-style rider and outdoor enthusiast, Kevin enjoys hiking, camping, cooking, and fitting in the occasional workout. His grounded nature and authentic passion for animal care make him a valued and trusted member of the team.

Madison Cahoon,

Customer Service Representative

Madison is a dedicated member of our team and serves as the backbone of our hospital. Known for her warm personality and genuine care for both clients and patients, she helps ensure every interaction is welcoming and supportive. Outside of work, Madison enjoys spending time with her two beloved fur babies, Georgia and Chai, and caring for her growing collection of plants. Her kindness, reliability, and attention to detail make her a valued part of our team.

Lauren Bradley,

Groomer  

Lauren was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is a graduate of Wake Tech and has been grooming since 2015. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys playing online games, collecting cards, and spending time with her family.
